Filming and stop motion animation have proved very popular with our members.
Our first effort “Marty goes line dancing” involved two location shoots, special effects, stop motion effects, graphically added effects, much green screening and robots behaving badly! We made every mistake in the book, learned a lot and made a “Blooper” video explaining what we learned.
From that dodgy start we now have young makers who win awards at film competitions – recently awards for three young filmmakers and also one for the Club itself.
We have invested in equipment which allows us to film on or off-site and in the software used by professionals. Most film projects can be planned or edited at Club Night, but we hire the hall separately for setting up a studio for filming.
Lead volunteers in this area are Lesley Ellis (film-making), Vittoria Hancock (stop-motion and fim-making) and Member Tutor Harvey Pole.
