Filming and stop motion animation have proved very popular with our members.
Our first effort “Marty goes line dancing” has involved two location shoots, special effects, stop motion effects, graphically added effects, much green screening and robots behaving badly! We have invested in lights and editing software and found ways of making costumes for robots which have a face and legs but no bodies!
We have stickbots and playdough for stop motion animation and these are very popular starters for learning the skills (and patience!).
We have been learning with YouTube tutorials as we have no expert in this area. We are aiming to recruit one as soon as we can find a willing volunteer. So we’ve made every mistake in the book, but learned a lot. We are in the process of making the “What I learned from making the Marty Video” our blooper video.
Lead volunteer in this area is Lesley Ellis with members Sandy and James.
