On-line Everything Electronic

On-line Everything Electronic Youth Club runs weekly from 6.30 to 8.00 on Monday evenings.

Our members and Tutors have lots of great stuff planned – and you can join a project or bring your own. We have members interested in Scratch, Python, Unreal Engine, and CyberSecurity.

If you love graphics and art, then we have a programme which gives you access to industry standard Adobe software to help your commercial development.

So games, cartoons, Viking Sagas, we have something for everyone.

(Note : If you are looking for adult on-line coding courses, FutureLearn is a good source of on-line training.)

At home kit : We can loan out computers to help youngsters get the best experience possible until such time as we need them back for the physical Club. Tablets generally are not good for learning Scratch in particular, as the youngsters need to use a mouse or trackpad with a left and right click button compatible with Scratch. It also helps if they have a reasonable size screen. We are also happy to loan equipment so siblings can both take part at the same time.

We have a loan form that parents need to complete and our main requirement is that you ensure your contents insurance will cover the cost of replacing the kit.

If your youngster wants to do Unreal Engine, currently our standard kit has only very limited capabilities for that. The minimum specs for Unreal Engine are:

  • Windows 7 64-bit or Mac OS X 10.9.2 or later
  • Quad-core Intel or AMD processor, 2.5 GHz or faster
  • NVIDIA GeForce 470 GTX or AMD Radeon 6870 HD series card or higher
  • 8 GB RAM

Gaming machines usually have the required graphics capabilities, a standard PC or laptop may not have a suitable graphics card.

Download a copy of the application form and return it to : info@futuregroup.org.uk . If you have any questions just email us. If they are not sure which session to join, tell them to share their best Scratch project and send us the link so we can advise you.
(Members will receive the reapplication form by email and need not contact us separately.) On receipt of your application form we will email details of how to join our on-line sessions. There is no charge for attending Everything Electronic thanks to our sponsors (see sponsor page).
